Reimbursement and Case Management Support Services

The Cyberonics Reimbursement and Case Management Departments were designed to assist patients and providers with all aspects of coverage, coding and reimbursement as it relates to VNS Therapy products and procedures. Using an individual approach for each customer, we provide information and support services to assist with all the challenges that exist in today’s health care market.

A highly qualified team of Regional Alliance Managers, Case Managers and Verification Specialists are available to work directly with you to address your needs.

VNS Therapy Reimbursement Department: The Department is staffed by a team of Verification Specialists to provide patients and health care professionals with guidance regarding insurance coverage, coding, and reimbursement for the VNS Therapy System and its related procedures. They can also put you in touch with your Regional Alliance Manager or Case Manager depending on your needs.

Regional Alliance Managers (RAM’s): Provide in-person education to psychiatrists and payers as it relates to the VNS Therapy System on insurance coverage, coding, and reimbursement. They can address any reimbursement related issues or concerns and provide expertise as it relates to the adjudication of claims. Appropriate materials are provided to support claims submission and/or appeals. They also provide continuing education relating to the VNS Therapy System’s safety, efficacy, quality of life, and economics to payers in order to create access to VNS Therapy.

Case Management (CM’s): Provide coordination of care to you and/or your family and friends over the phone with important steps related to VNS Therapy. Your nurse Case Manager is available to work with you and your payer to obtain prior authorization for VNS Therapy on a case-by-case basis. In addition, your nurse Case Manager will make educational materials available to you throughout the process. They are available to provide phone education to you, follow-up calls to assist with surgical consult appointments and procedure scheduling, if requested.
